PROMISES When the morning came You lay there pale The rose you wore Upon your heart Flowered red and it grew Flowering red The morning sun Hid in the fog I held my breath Just like you held your breath 'Cause I knew You will stay by my side You will stay by my side On the seventh hour Of the seventh day They came after me And I had to set you free But I know you will always be true You will always be true I kept my promise and you will keep yours And I know that heaven will wait For us I kept my promise and you will keep yours And I know that heaven will wait While we dance with the stars

I like my macchiato sweet I own two Beamers and a Jeep I'm driving fast, I take my pills I'm working out, I pay my bills I wear Tom Ford and Gucci shoes My watch is a Cartier Meet me at my gallery Critics call it a must-see If you are cool you may hang around You may not if you're clown It helps to be a millionaire Or a celebrity You want a Warhol, a Miro What it might be, just let me know Be sure that I will sell you something Absolutely Hot Brad was here, Beyoncé too What's good for them should be gold for you. Be hip, invest your bucks in art Take a Dali, just for a start A Banksy above your fireplace Might look pretty cool What a beautiful investment plan But please don't ask me if you can Be sure that it's no fake, I must say Absolutely Not I'm the king of art – I know how to bring joy To the boring walls of your twenty room country home I will make you feel just as rich as you really are I'll give sense and importance to you At last you are more than a senator's son You're a connoisseur, a personality That's a steal for a million or two Absolutely Not true   There's a place you will never see My high class art fake factory A specialized production line Prints and drawings in no time Oil on canvas takes a week Sculptures maybe two From here comes all what you have bought But take a tip: don't waste no thought You paid for it and now let it be All your money's worth You have spent a million bucks So why start a self-destruct And find out you've been defrauded When it's much cheaper to stay blind You've got a masterpiece at home And it's waiting to be shown To your friends and opponents, saying Absolutely Absolutely Extraordinary! It's like … literally … it's perfect. Post-deconstructivism, is'nt it? Yeah … but … you know … I like it! I like it a lot! I like the colors … Where did you buy it?

EASY PREY She called me up in the middle of the night After all that years it didn't feel quite right She offered a job out of order Way down south across the border A bank, in a town where I'd never been With a bunch of guys I'd never seen I said get out of here, fuckin' leave me alone No crap like that on the telephone When we met first I was just fifteen I dreamed to be killer with a laser beam She laughed at me but it did no harm 'Cause the light in her eyes felt cool and warm At the same time. I didn't know by then what I know now But anyhow One day she disappeared Like a mainstay that was blown away Two weeks later she called again Told me that she had changed the team With Jaco and Pete I had worked before But the rest of the men I had never seen I told her I was doing fine Out of jail, walking my line Right the next day she called again And claimed that I was her special man She talked 'bout seven hundred grand A hundred and ten for every man And she offered me an extra fee Way beyond reality I agreed to meet at Tony's Bar Downtown on Franklin Boulevard And the second she entered the room I was easy prey Easy prey It was obvious that I undercharged 'Cause the risk we ran was way too large It might turn out to be a body count I shouldn't fire one round for that amount But she looked at me with a special smile That gave an inch and took a mile Spike heeled shoes, short dark blue dress One look in her eyes and I was in a mess So I found myself on the interstate In a Dodge with a fag and a heavyweight Half a mile ahead she steered the Jeep With Jaco, Pete and a stinky creep When we fucked in the motel on a waterbed I learned the bank was owned by the syndicate But we'd just had to walk through the door It would be easy prey Easy prey We bounced into the hall and scared the clerks The fag was doing the dirty work But three more men than in our plan Charged upstairs, shoot-out began Uzi guns and 12 gauge rifle They shot the creep, I figured that a trifle 'Til the fag lay bleeding on the floor And the heavyweight crashed by the door Sirens coming down the street They blocked the road and busted Pete Jaco was shot in the face We looked like easy prey Easy prey But we both got away Got away Don't know how we made it But we got away And she was right We made seven hundred thousand Believe it or not And you know what? She's pregnant! That's great, isn't it? Awesome, really awesome … Yeah … yeah, I'm pretty sure I'm the daddy. Awesome, fucking awesome somehow Somehow

JOSEPH When he was nine in school, kids called him Ham His name was Jo but no one gave a damn When he was twelve, they called him Mac In their hide-out by the railroad track Ma's trailer parked between some rigs And a factory for farming pigs Near that small town by the border where they lived Since Dad was gone Dad was gone When he was fifteen, they called him Blue All the kids around were sniffing glue He helped out when he was seventeen As Mama ran that small canteen For people who had quarters left for food They called him Dude. But when he came home on that Friday night And his Dad was there and Mama cried He didn't find a single word to say So he walked away He walked away Looking for shelter by the neon signs And the shelves full of liquor, beer and wine Alright he looked like an undead bum But when the clerk dragged out his 12-gauge gun Jo grabbed the barrel and he lost his head Now the man is dead The man is dead. It was Julie he met long ago When they were ten or twelve or so Now she's a cop and drives him to the court Where they will give him thirteen years Just like Dad Just like Dad That's what Mama said Just like Dad They call him Creep since he is here Number three-o-five. Twelve more years When Mama came she had a black eye But she would never tell him why And when she left she didn't turn her head When the lights go out and the night creeps near He dreams himself to that sordid pier Where he and Julie talked 'bout sailing out Across the sea of no return Sea of no return Of no return.

LITTLE MAN BLUES With nothing to sell or share It's so hard to compare Little man's got the blues Working his years away For such a tiny pay Little man's got the blues Boss treats him like trash He's got a drawer full of cash One day on the locker room floor lay a set of keys Little man sneaked a peek And took the payment for a week That Friday night he got drunk and stoned as hell He woke up on the floor Cops banging on the door Little man's got the blues They couldn't prove shit But boss told him to quit When he asked for severance pay Boss produced his gun With nothing to sell or share Better try hard not to compare Little man sings the blues

Hooray 04:37
HOORAY Not much of a choice Mother said he had to go And Dad looked so proud That day Not much of a choice The ship sailed with the setting sun Away from the flags and the crowd On the quay Hooray! They cheered hooray! Hooray! Not much of a choice They fired and he fired back He tried not to count the men Who fell Someone he called friend Lost his legs the other day He died twelve feet away Too far Hooray through the smoke. Hooray! Hooray! Hooray in his ears. Hooray! Hooray! Not much of a choice When the big shell hit the trench Away it carried him To his very end Hooray at his grave. Hooray! Hooray!

YASEMINE Yasemine … Was that really your name? You came and went Left me with no one to blame but me Fools in love seldom get off scot-free You took my car, my guitar and my heart And turned them to debris Yasemine … Yasemine … Most wicked thief I've ever met I deemed myself smart I hadn't seen nothing yet The diamond ring Granny left behind for my future wife The Swiss pilot's watch of my Dad That once had saved his life … I wouldn't be here without it Yasemine … Yasemine … Some hearts are easy to break But Yasemine What that might bring about You shouldn't underestimate Yasemine … I've got a call from the man At least your accent was real He tracked you down in Amsterdam One of the next days he'll gonna knock at your door And that man and his gun Will be the last you will see evermore Yasemine … Yasemine … Mistakes are quickly made But Yasemine Some of them are not to tolerate Yasemine …

I think that you don't know my face I know yours pretty well I followed you since Ecuador You won't get away Get away from me Your boss paid you to kill my wife I strangled him to death That way you get your money's worth You won't get away Get away from me There is no place where you can hide This letter comes from hell Your death is all that's left for me You won't get away You won't get away Get away from me Get away From me From me

Ricochet 04:31
A shot – just one shot in the dark A ricochet through the park Near Main Street by the mall No – no idea where it came from Who fired that damned gun Or what he was aiming at I was late and I was waiting For the bus that night After working overtime again I was looking forward To a long night in your arms But then I Dropped down No, no light at all A cold and high black wall Around me and my pain I heard a voice beside me say That I had passed away But that just wasn't true I couldn't see and couldn't speak And couldn't move at all But I heard every single word and sound Then they drove me here Where I am lying ever since Down, in my pain Way down I heard you coming I heard you cry I heard you praying All night   Lord, I know I committed no sin Big enough to lock me in This horrific cage If you can't give him back to me If you won't set me free What could you mean to me? I know he won't stay I know I can't go He will leave and I will stay Living on the only way That's left to me Down Down

Moneymaker 03:38
When I was still in primary school I found a cat in its own yard I took it home and didn't bring it back 'til they offered a reward Okay. I shake my moneymaker My favorite sound I shake my moneymaker You might get off to see the real world I'd rather get real rich For a while I was in real estate But that didn't cure my itch I gotta think big Think big Shake my moneymaker Think big If you wanna be a big shot Don’t think 'bout robbing banks The real big buck is where they sell Machine guns, shells and tanks I give 'em what they want I shake my moneymaker Give 'em what they pay for Give 'em what they need What they need I'll sell you all you need To kill your enemies Or your dissidents Free delivery I take cash and gold I take oil and coal I take drugs and land Anything I take all you might have I take it all   Don't talk to me 'bout ethics Don’t talk to me 'bout peace War is just two blocks away One wrong turn and you're on your knees You should have bought a gun You should have bought a gun Shake my moneymaker Shake my moneymaker

Yes, it's been a real long time Almost seven years And it's wonderful To see you I'm so glad that I found you here In this good old place Sipping Irish beer We had a lot of fun here Together You're looking still so young No, I ain't kidding But don't look at me I'm grey and Yes I know I grew fat One could say I am doing well You'd love my car It's fast as hell I'm fine besides some problems On the job Would you like to dance? Would you like to dance? Would you like to dance with me? No, it's no decent job It's still the kind You've always hated Never mind, I'm not in jail Let me buy you a drink You and me we had a perfect year And when I'm looking back from here The time with you Was the best time of my life Would you like to dance? Would you like to dance? Would you like to dance with me?   No, I won't be here on Friday night I won't be here at all I'm in trouble I killed a man It was me or him It was do or die But he's the son of the boss And that's the reason why Sure as hell As soon as they find me I'll be dead Would you like to dance? Would you like to dance? Would you like to dance? And kiss me goodbye
